
Sharing Craft and Passion: Europe’s Bar Community Visits Distillerie Merlet
This January, Distillerie Merlet welcomed leading bartenders and bar professionals from across Europe for an immersive visit dedicated to French distillation and whisky craftsmanship.
Around fifteen professionals from the Netherlands, Denmark, Cyprus and Greece travelled to Charente-Maritime to discover the world of Merlet spirits and Coperies whisky.
This visit offered a true immersion into the heart of our craft. Among the rows of copper Charentais pot stills, we shared the secrets of our traditional double distillation, a family expertise that gives Coperies single malt whiskies their signature roundness and balance.
The visit was marked by moments of conviviality and passionate exchanges around our creations. Tastings of our Coperies single malts, alongside our Merlet cognacs and fruit liqueurs, highlighted the close connection between our agricultural roots in Charente-Maritime and the international world of mixology.
Over local meals celebrating the flavours of our region, we shared far more than techniques — we shared the spirit of the Merlet family distillery. A heartfelt thank you to our guests for their curiosity and enthusiasm, helping to carry our French whisky signature far beyond our borders.
